His current projects aim at developing novel nano- and micro-devices and hybrid inorganic-organic materials for energy harvesting and conversion as well as integration of Li-ion technology in flexible electronics.
Hybrid Organic-Inorganic Materials and Li-ion Nanotechnology for Harnessing Solar Energy
A demanding goal for energy storage systems harnessing solar power is the integration of three-dimensional superstructures and nanomaterials with unique mechanical and opto-electronic properties onto large surfaces to allow for efficient energy harvesting and conversion. Recent studies on material structuring, challenging the established nano- and micro-machining technologies, revealed that hybrid organic-inorganic nanoarchitectonics can provide a unified strategy for the next generation transparent electronics, Li-ion batteries and photovoltaics.
