Nicoleta Lupu received the Diploma Engineering degree in Technical Physics in 1996, M.Sc. Degree in Physics of Thin Films in 1997 and Ph.D. degree in Physics in 2001, all from the „Alexandru Ioan Cuza University” of Iaşi, Romania. She was employed by the National Institute of Research and Development for Technical Physics (NIRDTP), Iaşi, Romania (1997-present), Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France (2002 and 2003), Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan (2003-2004), Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), Grenoble, France (2004-2005). She was also Invited Profesor at L’Université du Maine, Le Mans, France (2006) and Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan (2010, 2012, 2015). Her research interests include magnetic amorphous and nanostructured materials, magnetic nanomaterials, hydrogen storage materials, microsensors for medicine, magnetic sensors and devices, magnetoelastic materials. She has published over 150 papers in ISI journals and presented many invited and oral communications at scientific conferences. She was involved in more than 15 international projects, out of which 7 were EU projects. She is the Director General of NIRDTP since 2011.
