Nello Li Pira, Dr. General Physics, University of Torino, 2000. He obtained a PhD degree at the Polytechnic of Turin in 2010.
He currently works as head of Physical Analysis Department in Group Materials Labs at Fiat Research Centre. He is in charge of all the physical analysis laboratories encompassing microscopy, optics, not destructive testing, metrology and electronics as well. The department is involved in physical analysis for metals, plastics and composites paying attention to processes, methodologies, failure analysis, quality testing and validation in the field of materials for automotive sector.
He is managing the FCA Innovation Master plan as leader for Advanced Aesthetics Materials developing novel innovative trims/solutions for different FCA projects including Alfa Romeo, Maserati, FIAT, and JEEP brands. He master in surface and coating metrology and plastic electronics since 2009.
He has international experiences in European projects as project coordinator: FP7 ICT PRIAM, FP6 NMP NANOPRIM, and scientific responsible in ICT, FOF and NMPB projects in the frame of H2020 and FP7 programs. Finally, he was involved in the OE-A, EPOSS and OLAE platforms.
