Dr. Agnieszka Mech is a chemist by education. She holds a master degree in computer aided chemistry (University of Wroclaw, Wroclaw, Poland) and a PhD in chemistry of solid state (ILTaSR, Polish Academy of Science, Wroclaw, Poland). Since 2010 she has been working at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (EC JRC) in Ispra as a scientific officer. She is an expert in physicochemical properties of nanomaterials, analytical techniques for their characterisation and regulatory aspects of nanomaterials at European level (e.g. REACH, Cosmetic Regulation). Her current focus at the JRC is providing policy support on nanomaterials, Nano safety and Nano governance.
